THE DAD PAMPHLET

In The Dad Pamphlet, Jam Cole collects her memories of an inconsistent and emotion-ally immature parent and weaves them into six bright and surprisingly lighthearted short stories that explore her own interior world as an adolescent. While navigating both the anxiety of growing up in a volatile household and the innocent young obliviousness of its psychological effects, the collection touches on abuse and trauma, but ultimately works to highlight the foolishness and absurdity of a parent who always has to be right, giving long overdue power back to the author and assuring the reader that no actually, Keanu Reeves did not write screenplay for The Matrix.
